BENTLEY CABRIO R-Type

BENTLEY CABRIO R-Type
The R Series was a car built by Bentley from 1952 to 1955. It was the second model produced after World War II, and replaced the Mark VI. The front axle suspensions were independently wheeled with coil springs, with an integrated rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. The braking system was a drum on the four wheels, mechanically operated on the front and by power brakes on the rear wheels. A four-door saloon version with automatic transmission was tested by the magazine “The Motor” in 1953. It reached a top speed of 163.7 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 97 km/h in 13.25 seconds. Fuel consumption was 18.2 litres per 100 km. The test cost £4481 including taxes.
